Abstract
Los insectos de la familia Noctuidae son frecuentemente encontrados en El Salvador. Se caracterizan porque los adultos son de hábitos nocturnos. Este escrito trata sobre el ciclo de vida, ecología y el reporte por primera vez de Spodoptera ornithogalli (Guenée) alimentándose del follaje de cacao Theobroma cacao L. a nivel de campo en El Salvador. Los insectos fueron criados en laboratorio y se presentan fotografías de los estados de huevo, larva, pre-pupa, pupa y adultos con su dimorfismo sexual.
