Abstract
This study documents the diversity of macrofungi in Ecoparque El Espino, located on the slopes of the San Salvador volcano. Sampling was conducted in various areas of the park on October, 2024, collecting and characterizing specimens through field observations and laboratory analysis. A total of eighteen genera belonging to the Ascomycota and Basidiomycota phyla were identified, distributed among six orders: Xylariales, Agaricales, Auriculariales, Geastrales, Hymenochaetales, and Polyporales. Most specimens were found on decaying wood, highlighting the importance of these organisms in organic matter recycling and the maintenance of forest ecosystems. This study contributes to the knowledge of the park's mycobiota and serves as a basis for future ecological and conservation research
