Aim & Scope
Revista Minerva is the journal of the University of El Salvador (UES), under the Academic Vice-Rector's Office and managed by the Secretariat of Scientific Research of the University of El Salvador (SIC-UES); it is the dissemination body for research results in all areas of knowledge. The journal is available to researchers from UES and other national or foreign institutions who wish to publish original and unpublished scientific articles, it is free and open access to readers.
Revista Minerva was born out of the necessity of the current stage of scientific development at UES; a process that, in an orderly manner with institutional support and specific budget, began in April 2002 led by the Council of Scientific Research of the University of El Salvador (CIC-UES). It publishes scientific articles in the following knowledge areas:
- Exact Sciences,
- Health Sciences,
- Humanities,
- Social Sciences,
- Engineering and Technology,
- and Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences.

Articles undergo double-blind peer review. For writing the editorial page, a researcher selected by the Scientific Committee will be invited.
Objective
Its objective is to disseminate unpublished and original research of scientific quality, produced by members of the national and international academic and professional community. All conclusions presented in the articles must be based on the current state of knowledge and supported by rigorous analysis and balanced evaluation.
Audience
The Journal is aimed at an academic audience comprising researchers, teachers, and students both nationally and internationally.
Frequency
Starting from the second semester of 2025, it will be published in continuous semestral mode, with two issues published annually, corresponding to the periods January - June and July - December. Articles will be published in the Journal once they have completed the preliminary editorial review process, peer review, style correction process and layout.
Additionally, special issues may be published if requested by members of the Academic Community of the University of El Salvador or external to UES. Starting in 2025, special issues must have majority participation by authors outside the University of El Salvador.
Indexing
Currently Revista Minerva is indexed in REDIB, Latindex, MIAR and Google Scholar, among others. There is a commitment to expand the journal's indexing beyond the regional level, this effort is part of the project for Strengthening Scientific Journals of the University of El Salvador.
