There were identified 26 species of fishes, belonging to 22 genders, 13 families and 5 orders. The 45% of species are in state of Least Concern, 31% have Data Deficient, 8% are Near Threatened and 4% are Vulnerable. Considering that the greatest diversity of freshwater fishes are found in rivers with marginal vegetation, the proposals conservation areas will guarantee the maintenance of ichthyological species in the Province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.
