Abstract

Bidimensional Supersonic Shear Wave Elastography (2D-SWE SSI) is a diagnostic technique that uses a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine that can qualitatively (in a color gradation) and quantitatively (in kilopascals or meters/second) assess the degree of rigidity, of different fabrics. This technology joins the UGAP (Ultrasound Guided Attenuation Parameter) which is an index used to accurately evaluate the level of hepatic steatosis (fatty liver). This combination is a noninvasive tool that uses ultrasound to determine the attenuation of its waves as they pass through the liver, such that the fat accumulated in the liver influences the acoustic properties of the liver tissue, producing greater attenuation of the ultrasound waves while the greater the problem, which counts and assesses the amount of fat present in the liver and is of vital importance, after treatment, to measure (quantify) the evolution or response of the patient to an ideal and timely treatment.
